How Dermal Fillers and Injectables Work
Injectable wrinkle treatment works in different ways, depending on the area being treated and the product being used. Here at Southern Vein & Laser Center, all of the wrinkle treatments we use are nonsurgical and FDA approved.
Crow’s feet and light surface wrinkles are often treated with Botox®, a highly refined muscle-relaxing agent. When injected into specific areas on the face and neck, Botox® blocks the fine-twitch action of the nerves and muscles that cause fine lines and wrinkles to appear.
Deeper wrinkles around the cheek, nose and mouth can be smoothed out using Juvéderm® Voluma®, a fast-acting injectable gel that plumps up the cells just beneath the skin, helping to minimize the appearance of folds and facial wrinkles. Kybella® helps to improve your chin profile through injections into the fat under your chin.
Southern Vein & Laser Center offers the following dermal fillers and injectables:
What to Expect from Dermal Fillers and Injectables
During treatment, a very fine sterile syringe will be used to inject the solution into the treatment area. Depending on the size of the area being treated, this can take anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes per session.
Patients report experiencing minimal discomfort during the injections, and a topical numbing solution can be applied to reduce any uncomfortable sensations that may occur. Temporary side effects may include mild bruising or redness at the injection site – these symptoms usually clear up within a few days.
The effects of wrinkle treatment with Botox® can take up to four weeks to develop, and can last between three to six months. The final results from Juvéderm® injections are also gradual, and can last for four to six months depending on the location of the wrinkles and the condition of your skin.
How Much Do Dermal Fillers and Injectables Cost?
Because dermal fillers and injectables are not covered by medical insurance, Southern Vein & Laser Center does everything possible to make these treatments affordable for our patients. We accept payment by cash, check and major credit cards, as well as financing through CareCredit®.
